(4) A Sikh watchman in the employ of Messrs A 8 Watson and

Co on a charge of seditious propaganda on the information of

the police,

(5) A Bikh in the French Municipal Police at the Shamien, Cant-

on on a charge of contriving communications as in 3. This man was

sent down to Hongkong by arrangement with the French Consul here,

Information given by the police.

(6) A sikn employed as a watchman at Amoy, on the information

of the police that he was concerned in the distribution of the

Gadhr newspaper which is highly seditious.

(7) A Kahomedan ■atchman connected with river steamers, on

the same charge as in 3,on the information of the police.

(8) (9) Two Mahomedans, brothers, one of whom is only 14 years

of age, concerned in the illicit sending by post or a revoluer to

their father ,a villager Lombardar in India.

These nine persons were loaged in the House of Detentionƒ for

vagrants in Victoria Gaol pending further investigation or fheir

cases. But on the following morning MoI being a Volunteer was

transferred to military custoay on a charge under the Army Act.

2- At II.30 a.m. on the following morning a Sikn Lance Sergeant

of police reported verbally to the C.8.P.that about 5 p.m. an the
